Economics faculty conduct field experiments using the Appalachian Electric Utility Research Lab

Economics faculty received funding to investigate how new technologies interact with energy programs to enhance residential demand-side load management.  The project is a collaboration with Economics, Appalachian Energy Center and New River Light and Power.  The two-year study will conduct field experiments using the Appalachian Electric Utility Research Laboratory, which is a collaborative platform that supports energy-related research.  The Alfred P. Sloan Foundation via the E2 Project: Energy Efficiency Research awarded $220,000 in funding to support the research.
